You will not have to explain the culture of competition or the pressure to perform. That understanding is already built in.
Yes. Virtual therapy is highly effective and offers flexibility around training schedules, travel, competitions, and academics. Many athletes find they are more consistent with sessions because they can attend from home, campus, or wherever they are located in Texas.
Secure video sessions provide the same depth and structure as in person therapy.

No. Therapy is not about reducing your drive. It is about helping you use it more effectively.
You will build emotional regulation, confidence, and mental clarity so you can compete with steadiness instead of fear. Many athletes find their performance improves when anxiety and burnout are addressed directly.
Most athletes begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and stability. As skills strengthen and stress decreases, frequency can shift based on your goals, competition schedule, and personal needs.
Consistency is important, especially during high pressure seasons.
I work with competitive middle school athletes, high school athletes, collegiate athletes, and adult athletes navigating performance pressure and life transitions.
Middle school athletes often seek support for:
• Early performance anxiety
• Confidence struggles
• Team dynamics and social pressure
• Balancing school, sport, and family expectations
• Emotional regulation during competition
High school and collegiate athletes commonly seek support for burnout, injury recovery, identity stress, and managing increased expectations.
If you are a parent exploring therapy for your middle school athlete, we can discuss developmental needs, confidentiality, and how sessions are structured to support both growth and performance.
If you are unsure whether this practice is a fit, a free consultation can help clarify next steps.
Therapy addresses both performance challenges and mental health concerns such as anxiety, burnout, depression, identity stress, and emotional regulation.
Mental performance coaching typically focuses only on sport related outcomes. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Sport Social Worker, therapy here integrates mental health expertise with performance understanding.
You receive comprehensive support, not just surface level mindset tools.
